Michael Cochrane has been practising law in Ontario for more than 30 years in both the public and the private sectors. He is a partner with Ricketts, Harris LLP in Toronto and was a senior policy lawyer in the Ontario Attorney General's Office. His practice has an emphasis on family law, estates law, mediation, civil litigation, and public policy law.
He is the author of several books, including Surviving Your Divorce: A Guide to Canadian Family Law, now in its fourth edition from Wiley; Surviving Your Parents' Divorce: A Guide for Young Canadians; For Better or For Worse: The Canadian Guide to Marriage Contracts and Cohabitation Agreements; Class Actions: A Guide to the Class Proceedings Act; and Family Law in Ontario for Lawyers and Law Clerks, published by Canada Law Book.
